Aesthetics and matching decor now play a major role in choosing any appliance. People are now concerned about how their kitchen looks and how the different appliances can fit in aesthetically. The main difference between the integrated washing machine and a free-standing one is that its door is flush mounted. The dimensions of these machines also confirm to a standard area available under a regular kitchen top. The integrated washing machine will have a dimension that is similar to the regular cabinets fitted in kitchens. The depth of the kitchen cabinet is usually between 56 to 57 cms., and the integrated washing machine models have approximately this same depth so that they fit snugly with the other cabinets. Most of the integrated washing machine models available are front loading, as it will be inconvenient to integrate a top loading machine among kitchen cabinets. Accessing the machine also will be a problem, as you will have to open up the kitchen top, to load the clothes.

The integrated washing machine, although fits very nicely in the kitchen, its capacity will be a little less than the free standing variety and also a bit more expensive. The cost goes up while manufacturing an integrated washing machine, as a flush door has to be fitted, and also the size has to confirm to certain dimensions. The free standing models do not have any constraints regarding their dimensions and also no additional panel doors or special control panels are needed.
