Doing laundry is no longer a chore, with the coming of the washing machine. Now, you no longer even have to own it, to do your laundry, as the commercial washing machine is accessible at any public laundromat. These machines usually have a device which accepts money or credit cards, and then allows you to do the laundry. If you visit a laundromat you will find that these machines are laid out in rows, and most of their exteriors are made of stainless-steel as it is a suitable metal for a machine which will be exposed to constant moisture, and a heavy working environment.
A commercial washing machine in a laundromat is installed in such a way that it is easy for service personnel to access the washing mechanism from behind, as these are heavy machines and cannot be moved easily. These machines are built to take rough and heavy handling and they do require regular servicing. The commercial washing machine comes in both models, that is front and top loading. But the more popular ones are the front loading models, which have large covers which are easy to open and close.
As for the features, the commercial washing machine which is installed in a laundromat is lesser equipped than the consumer models, and has only about three wash cycles for the main types of fabrics. Temperature controls are there for each type of cycle. The drainage of the rinse water is from the bottom and located at the rear of the machine, where a trough collects this water, and then leads it to a drain after filtering it.
There are commercial washing machines used in certain businesses, that have a bit of different features than the consumer models and the commercial ones used in a laundromat. These machines have a more automated approach for injecting the detergent, softeners and other chemicals. This reduces the work of the operator of repeatedly measuring the detergent and other additions for every load. These machines are connected to different barrels having the chemicals and detergents, and there is a direct injecting mechanism which does the rest.
In an environment, where there is going to be the same repeated cycles, the commercial washing machine is controlled through a computer. The operator can then just program the rinse and wash cycles that are required for a particular load of laundry. Another type of commercial washing machine is a Tunnel washer, which has a continuous washer processing. This machine does not do the job in cycles, but rather does it all at one time in a sequential process, that goes on in a tube which keeps rotating. The diameter of this tube is large, with a long length.
All types of commercial washing machines are built for frequent usage over a long period. They are efficient in their wash cycles to remove the dirt from clothes with strong fabrics. Commercial washing machines are not meant for very delicate fabrics, as they cannot be set for such wash cycles.
