It is no surprise that many people hate the look of the fire and smoke alarms. I mean, the companies that make these sure have not put a lot of time, money, or effort into making them look pretty. But then again, the purpose of the alarm is to save your life and not to match the décor of your living room.

Even with that said, many people want their alarms to blend in instead of sticking out like a sore thumb. Because of this, many people will actually paint over their fire and smoke alarms in an attempt to get them to blend in more. To start with, this does not work because they will still be noticeable. In addition, the directions of the fire and smoke alarms clearly state that you are not to paint over the alarm. The paint job will affect the alarms ability to work correctly. If you paint over the alarm, you have just removed its purpose other than to look ugly on your wall.

No matter how much it bugs you, leave the fire and smoke alarms alone. No one is going to care that they do not blend with your décor, as theirs do not either. Everyone that is responsible and understands the dangers of fire has these same alarms in their houses. Most of the time, people will not even notice them because they are so commonly seen in home and businesses.

Just keep the alarms how they came in the packaging and be thankful that you have such things to help keep you and your family safe from the dangers of fire.
