A refrigerator is a cooling unit and for the coolness to stay inside, the door of the refrigerator is tightly sealed to avoid any leakage. The door has magnets which will tightly secure it, and it requires a pull to open a fridge door. A proper refrigerator handle is a must for the efficient handling of the fridge. The fridge is opened many times during the day and the most used part is the handle, with it being constantly pulled. The refrigerator handle has to be strong and firmly fixed in the door to be able to take this constant pulling.

There are different types of materials used to make the outer body of the refrigerator. There are ones made of steel, fiberglass and also wood. Usually the refrigerator with a steel body will also have a refrigerator handle made of steel which is factory fitted. In upright steel fridges the refrigerator handle will be long and usually will run the length of the compartment. These handles are very convenient and accessible, and withstand the heavy pulling required to open the big doors of a large fridge. Compartments which have a drawer assembly, will have horizontal refrigerator handles, for sliding out the drawer. Many of these type of refrigerator handles are used as towel rods to hang kitchen towels.

Refrigerators which have a fiberglass or PVC body have handles of the same material and color, which enhances the look of the fridge. These handle also are quite sturdy and gentle on the hands. Certain refrigerators have a hollowed out portion in the door which serves as the handle and it is flush with the door. Some have it on the side of the doors and are difficult to detect. This gives a uniform appearance to the fridge without any handle sticking out.

Refrigerators having a wooden panel outer body have the biggest variety of refrigerator handles. This is because it is easy to fix the handle on wood and one can change the refrigerator handle to the design one likes. There are companies which make refrigerator handles and one can find a huge variety of them available at retail outlets and also online.

There are numerous designs available for refrigerator handles and various materials are used in their manufacture. Refrigerator handles are made out of rosewood, granite, cooper, steel, bronze and marble. These are pull handles specifically designed for attaching to wood panel doors of refrigerators. Special names are also given to these different models of refrigerator handles which tell something about their design. There are the, Antique Raj refrigerator handles which come as a pair, measuring around 19 inches. As the name suggests, the design is typical of a royal Indian style. These refrigerator handles are made of solid bronze and go very well with the wood. Due to their material and craftsmanship these handles, cost around $1,060.

There are also cheaper refrigerator handles available which are made of zinc with a chrome polish finish. These cost around $35 and are sleek and sturdy.
