Home & Garden House Alarm Systems — 11 January 2011

Many people tend to think that they are not at risk for a home invasion or any sort of trouble like that. This false sense of security is generally because they live in a nice neighborhood and they know everyone on the block. However, it is these nice neighborhoods where everyone is super trusting that criminals like to target. You do not have to live in a bad neighborhood to be a victim of a home invasion. Because of this, you will want to make sure that you are looking into wireless alarms.

But why wireless alarms? Why not go for the wired alarms all throughout your home. The answer is simple. If someone cuts the power to your home, will the wired alarms still work? Most likely not and this is why you want to think about wireless alarms. These alarms will give you all of the protection and alarm that you need if something or someone tried to enter your home.

Some people tend to think that for some reason, the alarms that are not wired in will not be as loud as others. This is not generally true although you will want to test the sound level of the alarm in order to make sure that it is loud enough to wake you up during a deep sleep. It also has to be loud enough to scare away the intruder. There are many different kinds of alarms that are not for wiring into the electrical system.

For those on a tight budget, there are cheap wireless alarms that are not hooked up to any emergency services or emergency support center. They do however, put off a loud, ear piercing siren that will scare away the intruder. After all, he or she does not know for sure whether or not the alarm is connected directly to the police department. In addition, since the noise from the alarm is loud enough to wake up the homeowners and possibly even the neighbors, the intruder generally takes off.

There are still some people thought that want to make sure that the police catch the criminal and prefer the silent alarm that is linked to an emergency service. But what is more important? Your safety or the criminal getting jail time? You want to make sure that you are also getting enough wireless alarms for every single door and window in the house. Even second floor windows should have the alarms on them because you just never know when or where the criminal will try to enter the home.

Do make sure that you are shopping around and getting alarms that you can trust. Research the company name and always make sure that you understand how to install the alarms properly. Improper installation could mean that you went through all of that trouble for nothing and that is the last thing you want to happen.
